A report by National Physical Laboratory has been submitted to DDA to make the games site totally noise free. The proposed site is spread in an area of 63.5 hectares and is located between a busy railway corridor and the 90-m wide NH-24. This results in constant noise from traffic, trains crosses from permissible levels. To reduce this noise pollution, certain measures have been taken such as:
A half Y- shaped modular construction of 4-m height and 1-m projection slanting at 30 degrees towards the
traffic side near NH-24, rail corridor and Link Road will be put up. Modular construction can be fabricated elsewhere and joined at the site. This wil deflect sound waves from reaching site.
A thick plantation will be grown on the sloping terrain and it will stretch along roads, railway line. Huge trees and dense bushes will be planted to obstruct noise from outside.
A 15-m high mound will be constructed along village boundary and a noise barrier will be constructed along village boundary.
Friction of tracks will be reduced and the nearby zone will be made "horn-free"
